| I improved my yields by applying better nutrient standards, cleaner environments and totally changed my strain type around for a change that resulted in about a 45% increase in flowers without leaf. The calyx to leaf ratio was a subject on another book of this author who has been shown to be a very consistant contributor to cannabis research. This is his grow entry and it is a layman's book. It covers results from possible hermaphrodite conditions and investigates methods of keeping grow room smells tight while making sure the best of your buds get the most light with tying and pruning information. | Certainly an interesting gardening book, and one that seems to be quite popular, but Carrots Love Tomatoes seems to be nothing more than a rehashing of what others have written. Much of the book is an alphabetical listing of plants, insects, and other substances and how they can be utilized in companion planting. There are also brief chapters on Pollination of Fruits and Nuts, Nuts Tress, Fruit Tree Culture, and Poisonous Plants. |

| Look at this book and you will get so excited about everything you can do with your stash, especially the leftover trim and leaf. There's stuff in here you've never thought about and stuff you have thought about but didn't how to do- how to make pills, tinctures, butter, baked goods, everything. Looking at the pictures even got me motivated enough to actually try to do some of this, and that's definitely a feat. Read this book! Then cook for me. |

| While I occasionally found the lack of something I felt to be important (like what HEIGHT should my blackberry trellis be?!) I found this to be, overall, and invaluable resource in understanding exactly what the differences were in berries, pitfalls of growing (and harvesting), pruning, diseases, caveats and just setting the growers expectations (so you're neither disappointed or overwhelmed by your results). I haven't found another book that covers the subject so well on such a variety of berries (including grapes, lingonberries and currants). It's written in a way that takes the ABSOLUTE NOVICE into a really good understanding--well above the norm. While it left a handful of details for you to seek out (and truly, not many and not hard to find) I would buy it again and again. ... Read More |
