 Rating:  - Seems useful, but hasn't solved the problem fully yet.I installed this product 5 weeks ago, after checking with the manufacturer (STV Pest Control) whether the "Cat Repeller" could be expected to work against dogs and foxes. Frankly, I'm not an expert on animal poo, and didn't know what kind of animal was fouling my front garden, typically 5 times per week. They said it should work, and that the more expensive "Cat, Dog & Fox Repeller" simply has a higher power output to cover a larger area. The instructions for the Cat Repeller clearly state that it may take up to 28 days to break the animals' habit in the case of persistent fouling, so bear that in mind if you read negative reviews where the reviewer seems to have installed the product only a few days before writing. I went into the kitchen this morning and looked out to find a noxious little cat sitting on my path no more than one and a half metres from the machine, as though it was enjoying the sound. I went out and turned the garden hose on the little beast and then I pressed the test button to check that it was functioning. The red LED was on and it shrieked at me as it is supposed to do. However, when I pulled out the stake to reposition it nearer the point of entry for the cats I found I got cat faeces all over the soles of my shoes, so it had obviously done its business near the alleged cat scarer! This was going to be the perfect way to keep the neighbours' cats (three of them) from pooing in the garden. So I set it up and put it in our small garden free of obstructions and waited.... To my amazement, I was greeted later that evening to the sight of all three cats sitting in the garden staring into the house. And this has never happened before. Read More Rating:  - Fantastic!I have had this product for several days now and I must express my total amazement at how efficient this is. I only required it to cover a small area outside my front door. The cats kept fouling this area and when the sun blazed down on it.... well, you can imagine the smell. This would happen up to three times a day. From the minute I plugged this in (I opted to purchase the small transformer as well) the cats just stopped. I believe they do a slightly larger model that may be more suitable for larger areas. My grandson and granddaughter who are eight and four can here the sound and it does really bother them. Having said that ....they only hear it when approaching & leaving my house. |
