 Rating:  - laptop Mac Book 2.4 Mhz whiteI've not had a laptop before and through general talking with friends etc was pointed in the direction of a macbook, with the adage 'once you go mac, there's no turning back'. I have used PC since I was a Kid (30 years ago) and thought of Mac as the realm of purely graffic designers. What a fool I'd been, this is the best piece of kit out there. yes it's got different shortcut keys and the like but when you get into it and then go back to using a PC you realise the mac shortcuts seem to be more logical. I bought a programme called 'little snitch' (stops any snooping round your computer by naughty people) and upgraded the 2 x 1gb RAMs for 2 x 2gb RAMs for £30.00. other than that, there are no firewalls needed, no debugging progs, no viruses. ... Read More Rating:  - Perfect in every way, apart from the magsafe chargerok, this product is truly awesome, leopard is innovative, user friendly, most people wont have TOO much trouble getting used to it, after a good few months at the most you'll know exactly what your doing, and you'll love your macbook! Pros - MAC OSX, more fun, more appealing to the eye. Drag and drop feature greatly enhanced in retrospect to windows OS's! Cons. MSN! msn versions are not the best at all, Mercury Messenger is the only one which supports webcams! Being over 5 years since we bought it, it was well out of even extended warranty. However, the particular fault is a design issue where the video chip makes bad contact and we had seen it before. Once was in the initial warranty time, so it was fixed at no cost, but more impressive was the the second time when it was more than a year beyond the extended warranty time and still Apple fixed it for free (under the 'Quality Programme'). This third time we were not so lucky. The Apple fix is to change the main logic board, but by this time Apple (and looking on the internet - hardly any other Mac repairer) had no spare boards. Moreover, it was out of warranty so the cost of a fix would be high. ...
