| Quite a few of the grow-your-own books that I've seen assume a certain amount of gardening knowledge. For the complete novice, such books can seem a little overwhelming, with lots of fancy-sounding terms that remain a mystery. However, this book explains everything very clearly, giving the beginner a fighting chance of learning what a 'tilth' is, and what on earth 'bolting' means.
The book is laid out very clearly, with excellent photographs that are both useful and inspiring. I particularly like the way the pages are laid out for each vegetable, giving all the information you need in a very accessible way.
