| This is a lovely little story. I find it quite uplifting reading about the children developing their personallites and becoming quite different people. I have always loved this story, and also the film. Would recomend as a classic, a childrens story and for adults reading! |

| I've heard about this book at the GARDEN BLOGGER'S BOOK CLUB.
This is a collection of letters between two english gardener friends, Beth Chatto and Christopher Lloyd in a period of two years (1996-97). I loved the book. Didn't know any of the authors, their gardens or their written work. I loved to 'meet' them in this book. I was sorry to know that Christopher Lloyd passed away a few years ago but I would love to visit his garden, still open to public. From the two authors, Christo looked the most fascinating character. | Having already got hold of "Grow your own cut flowers" by the same author, I agonised for a long time about whether to buy this as well. Although there is some repetition, there is also a lot of different material. There are more arrangements and techniques in this book than in the later "Grow your own...", more detail on floristry equipment, and more information about more plants, which are organised by time of year and colour in this book, rather than by bulb/perennial/annual/half hardy annual, etc.
Although the styling of some of the photos is perhaps a little dated, the arrangements still look fresh and modern, and could be adapted if you want something a little less prescriptive. My only real complaint is that you would need a very extensive ... Read More |

| I bought this book as I'm a novice to greenhouse gardening. This book is a must for others like me. It is written in an easy to understand manner and is structured so that you can pick out the sections you want or need without having to wade through endless pages of the stuff you don't want - not that there are any pages in the book that are surplus to requirements! The illustrations and photographs are very helpful too. The author doesn't use jargon or techno speak beyond the understanding of beginners and manages to instill the belief that greenhouse gardening is quite achievable for anyone who wants to have a go. Full of tips on what you need and don't need to buy also. An excellent book overall. |

| a good gardening book but somewhat misleading, in the small print it tells you that the plants and arrangements are not actually in Sarah Ravens own garden. I find this quite dissapointing. |
