| The problem with this book and the accompanying tv programme is that it encourages maybe too many people to try their hand at 'developing' property. As another reviewer pointed out, 'developing' is buying land and building on it from scratch - what property ladder is describing is 'property modernisation', nothing more.
There are a lot people out there who know what they are doing, they buy a property for the right price, they know what needs to be done to it for the market sector it is in, and sell the property on for a reasonable profit (note 'reasonable' being about 10% of resale value, dependant on the timescale). | I got this book because ever since I was a boy I have had a fascination with the Venus Fly Trap. As plentiful as they are nowadays in garden centres everywhere, they were virtually impossible to find in those days and if you did find one it was bound to be expensive. Nowadays they are usually no more expensive than any other plant.
This book opened up a wonderland of carnivorous plants that I did not even know existed. The humble Venus Fly Trap or to give it it's proper name Dionaea muscipula is now bred in a range of colours from green through to red and must be the most popular of the carnivorous plants. There are lots of sundews in the America's and we even have one of our own that grows in boggy parts of moorland. The beautiful pitcher ... Read More |

| I was very excited at first when i purchased this book. I was dissapointed when I started reading it. I wanted to know how to grow pot. I found it to be very thin when it came to explaining things. Way too much information in some chapters. I did however get some info from it and have a nice 3 footer growing in my closet. I used a ratio of 50 50 my own compost to a good potting soil something this book reccomends against. It's obvious some of the other reviewers did not read this book. |

| This book is badly written, poorly researched and only of any use as a door stop and even then not particularly effective.
Dont bother with this book, there are several excellent, and cheap, guides available, this isnt one!! |

| Indoor Bonsai is an excellent little book that covers everything you'll need to know about indoor bonsai. There are sections on identification, care guides for each species, tools required, techniques to learn etc. The book is seems to be aimed more at the beginner, although manages to inform without ever appearing patronising. Bonsai is a very complicated subject, although this book will unravel the mysteries and dispell some of the myths. It touches on just about every aspect of bonsai, from species selection, through feeding, pruning, shaping and landscaping.The photography is superb, and good clear diagrams illustrate some of the more complex procedures. A must for budding bonsai enthusiasts. |
