| As a student of landscape architecture, I was looking for a book that would guide me through the detailing of the many surfaces within my designs. The book acheived this and much, much more. It contains examples for just about every material and scenario I could imagine. It also holds may usefull data tables and appendices including many helpfull addresses and reference notes. It is a truely excellent book - I am now going to buy the others in the series! |

Amongst *many* other things, it contains a potted history of English gardening, many helpful hints on garden plants, soils and structures, detailed coverage (with some revealing figures) of the costs of a garden, advice on running a visitor attraction, and so on. All this is conveyed through a judicious balance of principle and practice, with many well-chosen pictures (400+). Given its size and full-colour illustration, the book is very reasonably priced. Warmly recommended. |
