| I bought this book as a present for someone, and had a look through it before I wrapped it, and it really did capture my attention. These trees are like mother nature's sculptures! Each one different, each one unique and very beautiful. The photography in the book is breath-taking and they really have caught the majesty of some of the most amazing trees in the World. Twisted and contorted, or tall and elegant, the range is wide and each tree shown in the book seems to have its own character. The description and history that goes with each picture is well written and expressive. | I eventually bought this book after catching and enjoying various snippets of the documentary shorts,from the book,about the facinating trees contained within it.These docu/shorts were aired on tv some years ago and i had made a mental note at the time(like you do) to buy the book someday.
Coming accross it then,quite by chance,at a very reasonable price on amazon..I took the plunge. I was not dissapointed. | This is a good book, its the second one that I have read on bonsai and explains in better detail the techniques and principles of the art. The book could be longer and more detailed but it is good for short quick refrences on what you need to know. It's nice clear diagrams and instructions are easy to follow, all in all its nice and simple. |
