| This book is neither one thing nor t'other. It is not a hand-holding guide to setting up your allotment step-by-step, and it is certainly not a reference book. It has helped give me a few ideas, and most vegetables are covered, but it's infuriatingly difficult to find what you need, and leaves you guessing in vital areas. The tone is nice, and friendly, and soft, and unintimidating for a beginner, but the information is something of a damp squib. |

| What an amazing and inspirational book. I could not put it down and I devoured it cover to cover in a day. I keep going back to it now for ideas. It is a must have for all gardeners. The style is witty and informative, written in monthly sections so it is easy to know what to do when. For beginners it provides step-by-step, simple instructions for getting started and for well seasoned pro's it's a reminder of the marvel of growing our own. A brilliant read. |

| This is an amazingly readable book, with clear but not patronising explanations; deals with design basics such as how to measure precisely, and to work out shapings. The section on specification drawing was particularly helpful for me, as was the discussion of choice of yarn for texture and drape, and the guidance on calculating yarn quantities.
Demonstrates all principles and techniques with very clear diagrams and schematics. Has given me (after 35 years of knitting!) the confidence finally to design a garment myself. Thanks and well-done, Debbie!! |

| I bought this book after attending a puppy agility class with my dog and loving it so much I wanted to get into the sport.
The book goes over the history of the sport, current competitions, (it is American Kennel Club orientated), the obstacles themselves and the techniques. However, it feels as though each topic is just glossed over and it left me wanting to know more. It describes the very basic techniques- a lot of it is basic obedience skills quite well but left me wanting on actual agility skills. However, this is a good introduction overall and not so expensive that I felt ripped off. I just had to go out and buy more books when I had finished to deepen my knowledge! |

| I have been collecying embroidery books in my whole life. I love drawn thread work and I include ver often sections of drawn thread work in my designs.
This is the best, the clearest, the most attractive book I have found to learn and practice this lovely form of embroidery. Instructions are written in a pleasant way, pictures and graphs are neat and clear and the whole book is a powerful source of tips and information. One of the best books in my big collection of embroidery books. I will try to find the email of the Author, to let her know the excellent quality of her work.
