| This book gives alot of information on garden pest & diseases but not how to treat them. Have viewed other rhs books with alot more information that this one gives you on how to treat and cure without using sprays. |

| I've just got through reading this book, it is quite a large book, and i was a little put off by that at first, but after the first two chapters i found it completely engrossing.
It is basically a research book into the method of farming and gardening known as bio-dynamics, the authors visit experts, working farms and observes biodynamic preps being made as well as giving an indepth history of biodynamics, composting and scientific understanding of biodynamic techniques. This is a great book for anybody who is interested in bio-dynamics or is skeptical of organic/ biodynamic growing methods and wants a scientific background to their belief. Their really is so much information in this book, that it's quite hard to do it justice ... Read More |

| Years ago I went on a short foundation course presented by the Author and was so impressed I bought the book. As a practicing engineer, it has served me very well. There is not much in everyday design that is not covered, little is glossed over and there are many worked examples. The book also covers critical state. Mine is an old version without a cd rom or spreadsheets. Given the other reviewer's positive comments, 3 stars seems like a mean rating for this excellent book. |

| I think Leeder's textbook will appeal to anyone who's striving to learn more about sedimentology and dynamic stratigraphy. It's a concise, yet thorough introduction to many topics selected within the vast, ever-expanding (and worryingly so! ) field of sedimentary geology... The author's main goal was probably to provide readers with a clear sense of how well integrated sedimentary geology now is with many other branches of earth and life sciences, physics and chemistry. And in my opinion such aim is succesfully achieved. The book will be suitable read to all those who have already taken an introductory, comprehensive course in sedimentology, and are on the look for something else to be inspired in their reflections.
