| I mean, I saw the first couple of episodes on cable and thought it was okay, just, but never got around to watching any more. Basically I bought this on a whim because, for a 22 episode tv series, it was pretty cheap. Let's face it, you do this sort of thing from time to time.
So I started watching it and, as I remembered, the first couple of episodes were just okay but I persevered and I then I got it. The actors are perfectly cast. Christina Cox as Vicki Nelson is an appealing mature heroine, intelligent, dedicated, not conventionally pretty, with a strong character. | Had some time to kill and went to see this film. Given the overhype of the Narnia films and several other book adaptations I was surprised and delighted to find out it was great entertainment and well worth the ticket price.
Freddie Highmore does a superb job playing identical twins Jared and Simon, identical by looks but not by attitude and mannerisms, who have moved to a rural house once owned by their great uncle. Jared, who is always getting into trouble, finds a large and mysterious book about the magical realm all around the house written by his great uncle many years before. The plot may be a little scary for younger children but it's fast paced and very watchable. |

| Generally this adventure has much to recommend it and does, indeed provide an interesting record of the time in which it was made. I came away glad to have watched it but not clear I would watch it again any time soon. Many things grated with me, in no particular order:
* WOTAN uses the name Doctor Who explicitly several times which I found grating * The change of companions is abrupt and the story ends just as the new companions enter the TARDIS meaning you miss the trademark 'bigger on the inside' line * The TARDIS prop is looking very tatty (though the last time I saw the Tennant TARDIS it had a hole in!) * The last episode has a huge battle scene with War Machines vs. soldiers which is much too long ... | A great series ! Lewis is a joy to watch as it is packed with superb actors while the editor has done his job to a high standard ! The writing is first rate - it is clear that Colin Dexter is exerting a very positive influence on the proceedings ! Robbie Lewis is a more sombre character now that his wife has died and that his best friend Morse has passed away . Laurence Fox has risen to the challenge and is an excellent choice to play Hathaway - had they wanted a sidekick that was totally different to Lewis then they have certainly picked both the right actor and the best possible character . The Fox clan have made yet another great contribution to detective fiction - just as Edward did in The Hollow and as James did in Death On The Nile . Fans of Laurence Fox should also watch ... | If you enjoy a good Tv crime thriller wire in the blood is the one for you. Robson Green plays Tony Hill who is a criminal Psychiatrist who gets into the minds of people who kill and explains his theories why killers kill or abduct and how they would go about this and what their next move would be. He works alonside a female detective and between the two of them crack cases and bring criminals to justice. Very gripping and sometimes scary Scense and leaves you wanting more and more. Story lines are both intersting and gripping and the part Dr tony hill plays (Robson Greene) is very well scripted and enjoyable. | All I can say is that this programme is brilliant. I have just purchased season 4 from the UK and totally enjoyed every episode. Well acted, well written with good story lines. All I want now is season 5 to become available. How long are going to have to wait? Not too long I hope. |

| I'm 19 now (so was only 9 when '10 Things I Hate About You' came out) and I have seen this film way too many times to count. There have been countless sleep-overs, film days, random get-togthers and quite evenings alone that have all featured this film, so much so that I can now pretty much recite the entire script off by heart. Yet it is a mark of just how great this film is that, despite knowing it inside out I can still sit down and watch it and thoroughly enjoy doing so - it is and always will remain one of my favourite films.
When I was younger I never questioned anything in the films I watched - it is only as I have grown up that I have learnt to be critical of films, books and music, and even now, I can't fault any of the acting in '10 Things I hate About You'. Heath Ledger ... Read More |
