| Although I am not the greatest Harry Potter fan in the world I have always enjoyed the film series and thankfully this film continues this trend. The Order of the Phoenix sees the dark lord Voldemort gathering his forces but with the Ministry of Magic refusing to acknowledge his return Harry and his friends must defy the Ministry in order to prepare for the coming war. Complicating matters is Ms Umbridge, the Ministry appointed Defence from the Dark Arts teacher, who is willing to do anything for the Ministry of Magic.
I haven't read any of the Potter books as yet and as such I cannot comment about how closely this film sticks to the book and I have heard mixed reports on the subject. Nevertheless I do feel that the film fits ... Read More |

| Thanks to the BBC and Amazon for this wonderful DVD release. DVD's from Amazon UK "always" seem to reach us here in Java Indonesia on the other side of the world.
We have been waiting over a month for four DVD's from the US Amazon (Amazon.com)however Amazon UK discs arrive within days not weeks thanks to the UK Royal Post no doubt.I'm told that Amazon in the US sends DVD's to Indonesia via DPGM (most likely Deutsche Post) We've viewed Count Francesco's beautiful tour through his beloved Italy and will soon join Francesco on the Mediterranean Voyage. | Ace fantastical comedy series loses the comedy and becomes a massive self-congratulatory tugfest. Gutted. Interestingly, the children in the family's loyalty is unwavering whereas the big un's are all agreed that the funny has done a runner, that may mean nowt but may mean everything. I hate saying this, but for me it's time to put the Boosh to bed. I'll look forward to whatever the chaps get up to next time though, as a team or as individuals. |

| Of all the characters that they killed off within the first three series' Paul McGillion's character Dr Carson Beckett was the one I missed most of all. He was in at the very beginning and although Jewel State's character Dr Keller is engaging and credible Carson was the sort of character you could laugh at but still empathise with. It's a real tribute to the writers and to Paul that the character is so interesting and entertaining to watch.
One character I could do without is Ronan Dex. For some reason despite the writers attempt at putting in a history he always comes off (to me) as one dimentional. | I have always been a fan of the series and have loved it from start to finish. As soon as I heard they was doing a film, I knew I HAD to see it! They really could not have done a better film and even my boyfriend who I dragged along to watch it loved it too! It feels like I've been waiting forever for this film to come out on DVD but its now here and I will definatly be buying my copy! Definatly have some tissues ready because if your not crying, you will be laughing. It's a truely fantastic film! |

| what a stunning series - more and more of the same please - and with the Black Swan and its crew (what a lovely group of people they appear to be, full of life!) I would love the know the source of the stunning music, particularly that played during the latter parts which sounds almost like a creed? |

| After all the hype surrounding the charming Mr Firth and Miss Ehle, I looked forward to seeing this newer version of P&P, only to be sadly disappointed. In comparison to the excellent 1980's BBC version adapted by Fay Wheldon (why oh why have they not released it on region 2?)there were many aspects of this more recent production that made me cringe. The strength of the 80's production lies chiefly in the superb casting of ALL the characters and the fine balance found between the many connective relationships - and here lies the weakness of this newer version. Some key characters are played with attitudes or behaviour which seemed a little too modern, and lacking in the necessary 'manners' of the time - a major oversight considering that P&P is essentially a story based on social maneouvering. ... | Initially I found myself not liking `Alex', pre-judging him as spoilt, profligate & immature. However his sister's narrative which spanned the two years leading up to `the bus', progressively showed us he was an impressive individual. He wasn't spoilt, he was angry with the people who let him down! If he was profligate, it was materially not spiritually. He wasn't immature, he was resourceful & intelligent.
It became easier to identify with him when I saw parts of his character as a reflection, empathising with his anger & connecting with his love of Tolstoy. I began to admire his strength of independence in his conviction to get to Alaska, in spite of the happiness he'd already found through the strong relationships he made on his way.
