| Nigella's Christmas book is utterly fabulous.. like the lady herself. Beautiful to look at, rich sumptuous and full of good ideas.
The recipes and ideas for gifts are sublime and the whole colourful book makes me happy just reading it. Lovely Christmassy colours of red and green with lashings of gold and sparkly bits. Naturally there are fabulous drinks too. By the way, the reviewer who says she will never put chocolate in her Christmas cake does not know what she is missing, that cake with the chocolate and prunes is simply THE BEST CAKE EVER I baked that last year and it was eaten in 3 days and I had to make another one. | Having been a recipient of The Broons and Oor Wullie annuals every Christmas for the past 50+ years, I was enchanted by this book.
It combines sensible, every day recipes with a window into the family life. More importantly, it settles a long-running Scottish argument - as can be seen from the address on a postcard, the Broons very definitely reside in Dundee! |

| I very rarely write reviews about products, but I felt the need to for this book. In my opinion this book should be in EVERYONE'S kitchen.
It has not only saved me money but it has improved my cooking skills. I like make everything from scratch, and thanks to this book it has helped me in this challenge. I can be 100% sure I know exactly what I'm eating - and this book makes it easy - and fast!!! |

| I bought this book because it's Gordon Ramsay and it was on special on Amazon. I found the book badly laid out and the pages too busy looking. The recipes are good but I've hardly used it because I don't like the look (or feel!) of the book. |

| Everything you could possibly need to know in one handy compact book. Every cook should have a copy of this on their shelf - it is like having a mini delia in your kitchen which you can refer to as and when you need it. Fab! |

| i tried the mincepies which were a great new taste with the marzipan in, I also copied the christmas cake with the stockings around - again a grea idea. Also did the shortbread recipe but decorated them in my own way but also lovely. Oh and I did the Christmas pudding recipe with the grated butter!! yes quite tricky but well worth it best pudding I've ever had and even when I made it. |

| I bought this book on a whim and have just completed my fifth cake and am in the process of devising my sixth cake - the pictures and instructions are brilliant, I had never iced a cake before and now feel competent enough to make them for people other than family! Would highly recommend this, and looking at other peoples reviews am going to buy book 2! Well worth it. |

| I had read a lot about El Bulli and Ferran Adria in newspapers and magazines, but his restaurant always seemed remote and mysterious. This book goes into great detail to show how "the world's number one restaurant" actually works, from 6am when the sun comes up to 2am when the customers have left and the door is locked. It's fascinating (and a little frightening) to see the lengths that Adria and his team go to in order to ensure that every guest has the best experience. There are some recipes, but you'd need a candyfloss machine and various other arcane bits of kit to make them all. The food looks delicious, sometimes familiar and often wierd, but the pictures of the guests eating show that they're having fun. Now that my appetite has been whetted I want to get ... Read More |

| A lot of the recipes can be got from the web but for the pictures and the recipes themselves buy yourself the book (or better still, buy for he/she who lurks in the kitchen area). The chocolate brownie recipe is a personal favourite featuring their inspired use of raspberries and (as they keep for ages) you don't really have to share them with anyone else. |
