| I have to agree with all the other huge Kings fans who've been let down by this album. I thought 'Because of the Times' was a departure from their original raw sound but the tracks are all fantastic in their own right, so it succeeded as a progressive work. But they've set 5 star standards for themselves with their previous records and this album, however, just takes things too far into the mainstream. The tracks are all very samey, only 'Crawl' stands out for me. I don't even think 'Sex on fire' is a patch on their old stuff, how ironic it got to number 1. Add to this their increasingly polished image and I'm getting worried that the Kings are turning into a run of the mill, easy listening, stadium band. Are money and fame making them soft? ... | Holy Cow I love... this album! Seldom do I buy albums and play ALL the tracks but this is an exception. One Day Like This is a very personal favourite and Grounds for Divorce is technically and musically evergreen. There is no room for disappointment here! |

| 11 new tracks from Oasis, the vast majority of which are very good, making it their best album in quite a while.
The good news is that Noel Gallagher seems to have rediscovered his muse, and his 6 songs on the album are among the best Oasis have made. Strangely, his offerings are also the ones that sound least like Oasis- ranging from psychedelic ('Bag it up') to Bluesy ('(get off your) high horse lady)) to a dreamy, out of this world feel ('falling down', my personal favourite from the album). Luckily every sound seems to work and it gels together surprisingly well. The problem is that all of Noel's songs come in the first 2/3s of the album, leaving the other band members to fill the gaps. | First, I actually give this 3 and a half stars.
I am a huge Keane fan, but was somewhat horrified after hearing 'Spiralling' as the first single. Parts of the song are great, but I can't get over the 'Oooooo' that riddles the song. There are only a handful of songs on this CD that I really care for; 'Perfect Symmetry' is pure Keane genius, emotional and powerful; 'You Don't See Me' is also nothing short of brilliant; 'The Lovers Are Losing' offers hook after hook, and right now is my favorite song on the album; 'Love Is The End' offers a nice closing to the CD w/some very thoughtful lyrics and melodies; 'Black Burning Heart' is def. starting to grow on me too.... | A beautiful, touching and emotive album.
Coldplay are stretching out into very introspective waters and this can often be very risky. However, they have done it so well that many like it simply because it is a good album. The themes of life and death echo throughout the record. I love the way it starts and finishes with the organ sound- a sound that many of us will associate only with a start of a new life, or the ending of an existing one. The final ( and partly eponomous track) maybe offers us the way are lives go- A blissful happy start, a thunderous, exciting middle and a poignant retrospective end. | I wasn't a Kings of Leon fan before I heard 'Only by the Night', but am now, so I tried this one. Not quite as good but still very enjoyable, and you can see the path they were taking toward their latest work with this offereing. Recommended, there are a few really good songs here too! |

| This is the only time I will do this but why is anyone reviewing the album before its out!!! You don't have a clue what it will be like and your criticizing it anyway.

| Like many I heard the plaintive Daddy's Gone last year and was moved by it's emotional punch and deft songwriting. Further investigations confirmed that Glasvegas have a number of exceptional songs which really move the listeners. Obvious references are the Jesus and Mary Chain and Phil Spector and they are mined for their full potential but this album is much braver than just Ronettes imitation for a number of reasons: 1. A number of the tracks feature long ambient sequences which build slowly and demand something of the listener before breaking out into the poppier side of the band - in fact the first couple of minutes of the album are an example! 2. | Best way to descibe this album is,the first half is good the other half is pritty rubbish!.The first six of these songs are defenately worth a listen but the other four are just fillers but considering I got this CD for six quid Im pritty happy!. |

| What a great album! By far and away their best, before they succumbed to Coldplay-type anthems on Seldom Seen Kid. Every track a winner, but "Very best" is well titled. Enjoy! Anyone that can get Stockport Supporters Club into the lyrics of a ballad is alright by me!! |
