| I have a kerbside flower bed here in Cape Town, South Africa which dogs used to urinate and defecate on as they were being walked by their owners. This was not good for the flowers or those tending them.
It was really amusing to see how this unit worked: after installation the dogs' owners could be seen walking on the opposite side of the street from mine, led there by their dogs who now wanted to avoid my flower bed. It is a little awkward to get at when you need to replace batteries. I may install a mains power supply at some point. Here the weather can be blazing sun in summer and oppressively wet in winter. This unit survives both extremes. |

| I spent some time looking around for a long reach , battery hedge cutter. I even purchased another but the battery was too smal for such a job. The Sabre is excellent nice design , reach is great for about an 8 foot hedge with the ability to cut the top with the easily flexible head and unlike most a decent size cutting blade. This is possible because of the seperate and large battery that you can wear seperately. I used it on a large hedge and it coped easily. |

| It seemed a good budget buy. It's easy to use & ours has worked hard for two years keeping the gardens of two houses looking neat.
The major problem has been getting spares, there are plenty of stockists of trimmers but few of them sell Bosch parts. Consequently I've ended up using other brands of trimmer line & this does affect performance. Finally the spool assembly has broken. The rest of the trimmer is fine & has plenty of life in it, but it may be easier simply to throw it away & start again. |

battery only lasts for limited time and then takes a good while to recharge. For more than just a bit of lawn/edge-trimming or other small areas, it would really need 1 or even 2 spare batteries. Unless there is something wrong with the almost new one I have. |
