| Thanks to Amazon reviewers, I uninstalled my previous version of Norton, ran the Norton removal tool downloaded from the website, installed as per instructions and have no problems. It runs scans in the background, cuts out viruses in spam without bothering me. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I haven't used the back up tool as I use Karen's Replicator with a Linux server and as double backup an external hard drive. Sorry, I don't trust Norton THAT much! |

| I installed Norton Internet Security 2008 on my DELL pc, which already had Norton 2004 installed. This latter program was due for a subscription renewal so I figured it would be cheaper to purchase and install the later version which must be an improvement mustn't it??? The installation appeared to go ok, but then it got stuck at the final "live update" stage. I left it running for about an hour, with the program apparently "updating" my pc, but it never completed and I guessed it must have "hung". I then tried to stop the installation, but to no avail. In the end, I was obliged to use "control-alt-delete" to halt the program. I then retried installation and the same thing happened. | If this product is anything like the beta version, this is going to be a vast improvement over the 2008 version. New features like Norton Insight, which allows you to scan files and compare them to trusted versions on the Norton servers means full system scans will be much quicker, due to these files being ignored if they haven't changed since Insight was run! Another great feature, which has appeared is the site adviser, similar to McAfee's, which can be downloaded as part of an add-on pack.
If this wasn't enough, liveupdate has been re-engineered to make it quicker, with updates more frequently, meaning you're always protected. The whole program itself is also much faster, which certainly will be popular with a lot of customers! So ... Read More |

| The product is an absolute joke. And the Technical Support / Customer Service at Symantec is even worse.
1.) Upon Starting the PC I am greeted with multiple pop-ups - Virus Definitions Out of Date and Virus Scan Out of Date etc etc. On entering the software everything is ok..... 2.) The system seems to hang on the "one button check up" during the Norton Cleanup scan and then after 30 minutes will find files to clean up. Example found 763 then cleaned. Immediately ran again and found 1091, then cleaned (again). Immediately ran again and found 2111. 3.) Have used Symantec Chat on 4 occasions and each time they tell me that it is sorted. | after an unsatisfactory trial with Kaspersky I decided on a simple antivirus, this is good, very good, its quiet, the pc runs quickly and smoothly and it even monitors my wireless network. Happy to buy this. Worth a serious look if you don't need a full suite. Well done it's taken a few years mind you but I think they have cracked it at Symantec! Ill be watching very closely if the virus and spyware is better, 2008 suite installed on my new laptop missed a trojan here and there so well see if this is better, but certainly from a running point of view it's spot on! |

| Okay, i'm up to date with modern technology and a bit behind when it comes with virus protection, lets say not as experienced as some and probably one of the youngest to comment on a product. I currently am using Norton nternet Security and thought about buying this product. But one word of advice you should consider. At the start the sign up to "Norton" is free. For a whole year it will do its job successfully, it does benefit from a simple user interface and isn't doesn't regularly demand attention. Its good for that i sing its praise. But after one year of the product, exactly 365 days. The product basically turns off. Its still monitors the basics but no longer recieves updates, so the risk is the same as before. | At first i tried a couple of times to install the norton 360v2.0 but all attempts failed..it was really fustrating to the point that i was keen on returning the software back,but i decided to seek tech support which was a bit long but successful.I highly recommend this software... |

| I purchased Norton Ghost 14.0 about 10 months ago and although it took some time to get used to it, it works fine on my Vista system. As I am paranoid about loosing any data from my computer, I am using many of Ghost's more advanced functions, and I also restored my PC successfully with Ghost after a system crash 4 months ago. The advantage with Ghost as I see it is that you can make backups on all sorts of medium; external hard disk drive, dvds, etc. For each backup you can choose to keep older backups, giving you several versions of the same file in time. You can also duplicate backups which is useful if you keep a set of backup on a separate HDD outside your home. The scheduler makes backup tasks completely automatic - and you're not forgetting it!
