VHS : In The Bleak Midwinter [1995]
This is a film that I went to see at the cinema on a whim. I liked Kenneth Brannagh's earlier films, especially Much Ado About Nothing, and had a couple of hours to kill.

I came out of the cinema feeling fantastically uplifted.

Why can't I get this film on DVD??????

VHS : Beloved [1999]
Having just watched this dvd last night I agree with all said before. I found this story to be totally captivating. One can only imagine all the pain & suffering endured. It is supremely haunting. In some instances frightening. There is no way in which my review could do this film justice. The acting was excellent. Orah Winfrey's acting is greatly underestimated. Everyone should see this film once even though it will leave you with a feeling of having seen, heard and touched something that should not be seen, felt or touched.

VHS : Dad's Army - Man Hunt [1968]
This video has three of my very favourite episodes. 'Man Hunt' is the one where Walker finds a parachute and has it made into ladies' knickers and they have to go around trying to find out what colour they are, to determine whether it was a British or German parachute. Then they get a hopeless tracker dog to try and track down any stray Germans who might turn up the area. "Sergeant, Save My Boy" is the one where Pike gets caught on some barbed wire on the seashore with the tide coming in, and they have to make their way through a minefield to get to him, using Jones's famous bayonet to test the sand for mines. "Don't Fence me In" is the one where they have to take charge of an Italian prisoner of war camp while the Polish guards go away for a weekend. The Italian ... Read More

VHS : Dad's Army - The Very Best Of Dad's Army - Vol. 2 [1968]
Dads Army is one of the greatest comedy sitcoms of all times, and this video goes to prove it. The five classic episodes are all excellent, i have watched the video many times, and it never gets stale. If you want a video which is both hilarious and touching, this is the one to buy.

VHS : Carry On Teacher [1959]
Carry On Teacher was the third entry into the long-running British comedy film series and was an amusing one at that. The series was well underway having enjoyed International success with its predecessor, Carry On Nurse. This is a gentle, light-hearted comedy, distinctley reminiscent of the St. Trinians series. When a headmaster of a school decides to leave for a new post, the pupils do everything to sabotage his chances because of his firm popularity with them. Two school inspectors arrive, both with diverse ideas on discipline (Rosalind Knight and Leslie Phillips) to assess Mr. Wakefields (the headmaster - played by Ted Ray) progress with the school. And so cue all the predicatble slap stick mayhem such as the staff getting hopelessly drunk after the staffs tea is ... Read More

VHS : Get Real [1999]
I really love this film. Welcome to Berkshire and an example of the real world of growing up gay in England as a teenager. This film is so true to life and will touch anyone sensitive to the world where "I can't be the only one and you all know that! My parents are not the only parents in this school assembly here with a gay son". But Berkshire is also Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Angus, Fife etc.). Go for it!!!!
