| Very good camera for the price, I was unsure whether the quality would be good but went ahead and bought it. Very glad i did as the quality is good enough for use on skype which was the main reason for purchase.I have yet to use the microphone as i have a seperate one. I have only given it four stars as the speed is slighty slow, so lips are never synched with sound but this doesnt matter much to me. the only major problem i had on installation was the software supplied when used created severe crackling and noise with any sounds even when the camera was off. This however, thankfully, can be resolved by right clicking on the icon in the task bar and clicking check for updates and downloading when prompted. After this I have had no further problems ... | I'm puzzled by all the positive reviews that do not point out the flaws with the software provided with this product. While the hardware seems good quality and the image quality *can* be very good, the out-of-the-box experience is poor. I have installed this on 4 different laptops now (2 x thinkpad X61, Advent U1A, Sony Vaio). The results are as follows:
Common Issues: -------------- - If the Quickcam application (current latest version 11.8) is installed as well as the drivers, then when using Skype (probably is the main reason why most people will be buying this) there is a conflict between the Quickcam application and Skype. | I recently bought this webcam. Set-up etc. reasonably straightforward, though lead is a bit too short to allow me to connect to the mic jackplug on the pc (on the floor by the side of my desk) and place the camera on top of the monitor. But as it happens this doesn't matter, as although the picture quality is pretty good, the mic is virtually useless and I have had to resort to a seperate mic. If I hadn't owned one, I would have returned the webcam. There is also quite a delay in the synchronisation of speech and lip movement ...though I think this may be a common problem with webcams in general. I'm sure there are better all round webcams for the price. I wouldn't recommend this one unless you just want decent visuals and sound is unimportant. |

| Having read a review I bought this to use with my laptop. It may have a built in microphone but I am unable to use it as when I have the USB lead plugged in one side of my laptop the microphone lead doesn't reach the socket the other side. No instructions come with this webcam, it assumes you know what you're doing. Although I'd read claims that it could be used without the driver software that came with it I couldn't get it to work at all without. The add ons that came on the CDROM didn't appear to recognise that I had the camera attached. Can't fault the supplier though they offered a full refund if I returned it. |

| I have Vista and wanted a cheap, but decent webcam to work in Skype and Live Messenger. I installed the software, connected the camera and it works. Can't say fairer than that. It fits onto just about any monitor - TFT, laptop or whatever. |

| I ordered my vx1000 from somewhere else but when you get the webcam pluged in and installed the drivers and such which is easy to setup and when you first use it the picture is fine however i have had mine for like a couple of months and from time to time the image quality would be a bit blurry and that i see the same result from my friend who has same webcam that i recommended but don't know when that happened anyways let this picture quality speak for it's self.

| The only good thing about it is the webcam works as a basic webcam.
The camera is ok when there a lot off light in the room but if it's slightly dark you can't see anything. If you're buying this for the video don't the video is very slow and the quality isn't that good. The microphone is useless u can't hear anything. If you want to hear your voice you actually have to scream into the webcam. I would recommend you spend a bit more money and get a better one. |

| The quality of this camera is great, and has been reviewed by others, but thought I'd add a comment to mention that it works - out of the box - with Ubuntu. No driver installation required, just plug it in and use it. Tested with Skype, X-lite and other video conferencing software.
I agree that installing the drivers on windows is a bit of a pain, but that's windows fault not the camera's, and Logitech go to great lengths to help you install it properly on Windows, so don't worry about it, just follow the instructions. Would definitely recommend this camera, and all Logitech QuickCam Pro cameras for professional quality. |

| I bought this primarily for the SKYPE capabilities and as suggested on the title - does exactly what it says. Good quality image for a budget Web Cam and clear audio thru the headset (the ear phone and mic is just bog standard so it remains to be seen how long they last however). All in all a good quality budget product. |
