| this product is a simple easy to use and feels of good quality. it is small enough to carry in pocket about the size of an old mobile phone. the software is built in as is the usb connector so when you have videod you just plug in to usb and follow instructions on sceen, no discs to load very simple. a video can be filmed and emailed in less than 5 mins even by a fool like me, its that easy .also when you switch it on it is ready to record in less than 3 seconds. only down side is video quality not great. |

| The DVD 110 is by no means a bad camera and will serve most people well. The picture quality is not brilliant so if you really want a clear crisp picture that truly reflects the colours and depth you see with your own eyes then look elsewhere. The manual is mind boggling too... and confusingly there is also the DVD 115 model which has all the same features of the DVD 110 but 5.1 nicam surround sound recording for improved sound back on home theatre systems.All in all i can't say im dissapointed but the DVD 110 does leave you wanting more. Some nifty features however - ask to try before you buy, go into a high street electrical store and get them to demonstrate it it, if your happy get one from Amazon cheaper. |

| This is my first camcorder ever and I've found it brilliant.
I fall into the "happy snapper" category and have the attention span of a 2 year old with manuals but this camera is so easy to use that after a minute of skimming I was up and running taking videos & photos, plugging into the telly etc. Top marks & does what it says on the tin for someone like me. |

| This is my first videocamera and I bought it after reading many positive reviews. I wanted to have something small and easy to operate. from the other reviews, it also seemed to work well on a (new) Mac which was one of my worries.
After using it for several weeks, I can say I overall like the camera itself. The video quality is good, even in low light (yes it's grainy and all, as happens with videocams in this class, but you can still make out a lot on the video, even in very bad light). I haven't used the photo function that much but the quality of the photos I took so far was *not* outstanding. It won't replace a modern compact camera. | I bought this camera because I suspected my old camera of having a slow throughput of the digital tape giving jerky panning. I thought no tape would eliminate a lot of faults. It did to some degree. But my main gripe is the battery! I cant obtain a replacement sony NP-FH40 I have trawled the net and been back to the shop I purchased from.
All I can get is a large battery that sticks out from the back of the camera and has a small lead that is inserted into the DVin socket. You no longer get battery information while the camera is inserted, so you dont know if it is nearly discharged. This is not good enough. If your thinking of buying...dont! | I wanted a new camcorder for the holidays. I come from the era of tape, and although I have gone digital in all other areas, this was the last one to be upgraded. My first camcorder was a Hitachi, that was a Super VHS-C, would record 30 minutes, and the thing looked like what the BBC camera men would carry and it cost £1,500.00 back in 1991. My we have come a long way!
The Sony camcorder is simply stunning (not without faults - later!). With the £50.00 cash back its only £690.00 or there about. | I was in the market for a new digital photo camera about 6 or 7 months ago after my old Fuji started playing up. We had a family event in May and before everyone left for the day I borrowed their cameras to get copies of all the pictures and clips they'd taken. It was while I was doing that, that two things occurred to me:
1) I enjoyed the video clips but there wasn't enough of them for me. 2) There's more than enough still cameras in the family. Maybe I should get something else. In all the reviews and grouptests I saw, the two cameras that kept getting mentioned for picture quality and good all-round features were the Panasonic SD5 and SD9. | Due to my JVC dx 57 finally giving up the ghost and
on the basis of reviews here I ordered the unit 05/08. Taking some test footage of foreground panning to landscape outside in bright summer sunshine. I then transfered via firewire to my PC and was very disappointed with the results. Specifically the unit really struggled focusing (an issue I could perhaps understand in low light) and footage looked like it was shot in soft focus. Note this is not apparent when replaying footage on the unit itself (which I assume is the reason why this has not been raised in other reviews or perhaps this is the first camcorder the other reviewers have experienced). | I purchased the Canon camcorder some 4 weeks ago and am amazed at the quality both of the camera itself and the results it produces. It is very simple to use, gives superb picture and sound quality and is generally a "nice" piece of equipment to own. I would thoroughly recommend it to a beginner or an experienced camcorder user. |
