| For the past three months I have been searching of the ultimate digital camera, undering £250.00 squids. When I came across this camera and saw it for the first time, I said BINGO (I really said that very load).
An SLR camera? by Nikon? Under £250.00 pounds?.. with £40 pounds cash back!!! So I did further, 3 day intensive, research into this camera (even skipping my lunch breaks etc). | I do not consider myself to be a good photographer, nor could I explain half of the features on this camera or how they work. All I know, is that the majority of the time I'm extremely happy with the pictures.
On a recent trip to HongKong what amazed me the most was the quality of pictures at night. Even on the most basic of settings, the camera was able to capture clouds and other details that weren't immediately obvious to the naked eye. The stabilising functionality is also not bad, as a good number of my pictures came out crisp and clear - impressive considering I was on the Star ferry at night being bounced around by the harbour waves. | I brought this camera a little over 1 month ago, and after extensive testing on a holiday to Berlin was very impressed with the features on this camera, only down side is the smile feature! i tied it out, and you need to be grinning ear to ear to make it work! but apart from that it is a good camera. Battery life is very good, and there is an internal memory just in case you run out of space on your memory card, i have a 4gb memory card and have found this sufficent for at least 4 days worth of photos, picture quality is very good as is the video recording. i would recomed this camera as it is light , looks good and packed with features. |

| Just excellent. Supremely good build quality, quality lens included, stellar battery life and full control over evey setting. Functions very well as a point and shoot, but also shines in low light situations on long exposures. I still haven't quite figured out exposure compensation in bright settings, but I'm sure I will in time.
I vowed never to buy Sony again after a shocking experience with an mp3 Walkman, but am glad I reconsidered. This is a cracking device. |

| I bought this after owning/using several other cameras. I wanted something smallish I could carry around that would give me enough versatility to allow the SLR to stay at home.
In the shop it was up against the Canon G9. I took some pictures with both and the one that required the least effort to get a good shot was the TZ5. The winning factors were: Very good image stabilization Excellent lens and zoom range Great screen Good build quality Easy to use What's not so good is: Sound in movie mode is poor, but useable. Just use a camcorder. Most digital cameras record at 30FPS, UK TV is 25 FPS. So they give slighly jerky playback anyway. But they do look good on a PC. TZ5 looks ... Read More |

| This is the second lens I have bought for use with my 400D. (The other being a 28-135USM.)
I read quite a few reviews of this lens before I decided to take the plunge and buy my first prime. The rave reviews that this little lens gets are very deserved. I love taking pictures with it, particularly at parties. I tend to wonder around snapping spontaneous unposed photos - being able to take these photos without a flash is a real boon, as friends rarely notice that I've taken their photo, and I get some very natural looking smiles and laughter! | I debated for ages about whether to buy a digital SLR (such as the EOS 400d) or a 'bridge' camera such as this one. After reading many reviews and asking myself what I really wanted a camera for - I opted for the FZ18. I've had the camera for about 2 months and so far I am delighted with it! The menu system is straightforward to navigate (I've never used a Lumix before) and the range of manual settings is vast if you like to 'tinker.' The instruction book is clear and provides hints and tips for getting the best shots from each creative mode. The camera feels solid, looks stylish and is pretty responsive. | As far as entry level slr's go this is excellent for the price i bought this as im a student at uni. it gets used for loads of different things. very pleased with nikon so much so have saved up for the up coming D3x only because im going to do a project and need something special, but this camera got me into university so thats saying something. very easy to use and can take amazing pictures for being a cheap camera check out my pics ive loaded on this page. another good thing about this camera the battery charges in about a hour the lens you get in pretty good to I use it most of the time |

| This is the natural partner for the 18-55 lens that came as kit with the body.
The lens is not actually 100% plastic as most of the people states, it is in part made by plastic, but the part that attacches to the camera body is painted alluminium, it looks and weights like plastic but is metal! The IS is amazing, and the lens very sharp, even at 250mm... once attached to your body, the only limit is your creativity. this is the best zoom lens around for a cheap budget if you own as EOS camera. Best Lens 195 pounds can buy. |
