| Absolutely delighted and simply astounded that this tiny piece of equipment can produce such stunning results. This is my first digital camera experience and it's provided a huge amount of fun. Each photo is clear, the colour stunning and the video clips even indoor under lights very good. The manual is clear and the controls very easy to use. |

| Very good performance and features for the money. The 7M pixels is maybe a bit excessive: the resolution being limited by the lens and the picture compression, but this is perfectly OK for family and holiday photos.
You'll need an additional SD card (about £4 for 2GB) to store 2000 pictures or so. However, the camera went dead after about 25 photos, so I'd score 10/10 for features and 0/10 for endurance. |

| After being really impressed with the picture quality from a friends Sony Cybershot DSC-W100 I decided to take the plunge with a Sony camera. This model took my eye because of the black design. After a few months of playing around (being a casual photographer) I am very happy with my purchase.
For me, the major plus points are: sharp high resolution images at 8.1MP a hefty 4x optical zoom powerful flash that gives you superb photos in poor light user-friendly menu and navigation great looking camera The low points are: the camera is smaller than I imagined, feeling awkward in my clumsy hands relatively small LCD screen - at 2.5cm (my old Kodak camera had 3cm) annoying music ... | Very decent entry level camera and superb value for money.
My only reason not to give this is a higher rating is that the lens is not brilliant as is an all rounder so not great for very close ups, and not as great at landscapes as some other wide angle lenses i've used. Would definitely recommend this to someone buying their first DSLR as it's really easy to use and tweak settings to suit your preferences very easily. |

| In a layman's term, this D-SLR camera is almost identical (in term of features and picture quality) to any other Nikon Mid/professional D-SLR camera so I am not sure why Nikons are selling them so cheap - i am baffled! Unbelivebly, it's under £300.00 pounds and you can also claim £40.00 pounds cash back directly from Nikon.
The other most important thing about this camera is that you can upgrade to an enhanced newer Nikkor AF lens later when your ready. so it's future proof by default. The camera kit does not contain SD card so you'll need to buy one prior to receiving the camera. just get a 2GB SD from ebay or amazon for £5 (correct on Aug 2008). | After reading countless good reviews about the Sony DSC-730 and owning a very good Sony Camcorder, i decided to buy it. Camera looked good, simple to use but after 20 or so pictures and a couple of short videos, batteries ran out. Replaced and same again. 60 pictures - 3 sets of batteries!! Really don't think this is practical, can't possibly carry a batch of batteries every time i take the camera out. Camara going back. Had a cheap Olympus camera before this, took brilliant pictures and batteries lasted weeks. Off to the Olympus shop then! |

| This has so many features to chooses from and very easy to use.As an ameature, this little camera can only help improve my pictures. I wish I had bought it sooner.I am a convert from my Canon EOS 500, a 35ml film format- digital is so much easier to use. I would be lost with out the Canon Ixus970 compact camera. No more blured or out of focus photos! |

| I ordered through Amazon as they had the best price at the time, took a little longer than expected to arrive, over 2 weeks.
I had upgraded from a Sony Cybershot 7.2MP. Well you cant even compare the two. From only ever owning a point and shoot camera I now do not believe I could ever use anything but a dslr again. The camera came with the 18-55mm canon lens, and the normal included accessories. This did not include a pouch, so I ordered the canon semi hard case EH19 L from 7dayshop for £27.99. Expensive but quality product. The only problem you might find is that the case fits the camera only with the 18-55mm lens, and so when I am using the 55-250mm lens I need to change the lens before I pack it away.
